Pilgrimage place Svatý Hostýn

Svatý Hostýn is a hill in the Hostýn Hills, on which there is an important Marian pilgrimage site, which was declared a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic in 2018. The existence of a spring near the top and the remains of prehistoric ramparts led to the creation of a number of legends, and according to one of them, people hid here in the 13th century during a great raid by the Tatars. People suffered from lack of water during the raid, so they prayed to the Mother of God. She heard their prayers and a spring gushed out on the summit and a mighty storm forced the Tatars to retreat.

Kelčský Javorník lookout tower

Kelčský Javorník is an 864-meter-high mountain in the Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina and is the highest peak of the Hostýnské vrchy. At the top of the mountain there is a cylindrical observation tower made of metal and wood, 35 m high. With an isolation of 26 km (the isolation of the mountain top), Kelčský Javorník is one of the twenty most isolated Czech mountains, so a really wonderful view of the surroundings awaits you. Entrance to the observation tower is free, however, it is restricted in extreme weather conditions such as strong wind, ice or thunderstorms. The East Moravian Tourism Center awarded the title of Best Achievement in Tourism in the Zlín Region for the year 2015.

Maruška lookout tower

The sixteen-meter observation tower stands near Hošťálková in Vsetínsko at an altitude of 664 meters between Troják and Bludný hill. The two-story wooden observation tower was built in the Wallachian style and is beautifully crafted. It was opened to the public in 2014 and it offers a beautiful view of the panorama of the Hostýnské and Vizovice Hills, the Javorníky Mountains or the Moravian-Silesian Carpathians.

Helfštýn Castle

Helfštýn is a castle ruin near Týn nad Bečvou in the Přerov district in the Olomouc Region. It has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1963. Four courtyards are accessible at the castle, it has five gates, numerous bastions, towers and an extensive system of internal and external fortifications. Due to its area, it belongs to the largest castle complexes in Europe.

Holešov Castle

Holešovský Castle is an early Baroque castle building with a French park and water channels. At the end of the Thirty Years' War, the castle was looted several times and burned down by the Swedish army in 1643. Count Rottal bought the destroyed manor in 1651 and established a family residence here. The count began to rebuild the castle into a magnificent residence, and thus the current four-winged, two-story castle with regular hexagonal towers in the corners was created. In 1995, the castle was returned to the relatives of the last owner in restitution, and for decade the castle fell into disrepair. In 2005, the town of Holešov bought the castle for the sum of 13.4 million CZK, and a new stage of the castle's restoration began.

Hranická Propast

The Hranická Propast is located in the Hranické Karst on the right bank of the Bečva River in the Hůrka u Hranic National Nature Reserve in the Přerov District in the Olomouc Region. The depth of the dry part of the abyss is 69.5 m. The maximum measured depth of the flooded part is 519.5 m, without reaching the bottom. The Hranická Propast is thus the deepest flooded freshwater cave in the world. According to findings from 2020, the depth of the flooded part can reach up to 1 km.

Zbrašov aragonite caves

The caves are a protected area in the Přerov district, declared a national natural monument for the protection of a hydrothermal karst area of European importance, which has no analogues in the Czech Republic. The protection of the area includes the Zbrašovské aragonite caves themselves and also the outer surroundings with forest cover. In addition, natural deep springs of warm mineral water with a high carbon dioxide content are protected here, which formed the entire karst area and are also used for spa purposes in the Teplice nad Bečvou spa.

Květná and Podzámecká garden in Kroměříž

The Kroměříž Květná Garden, also known as Libosad, is one of the most important garden works on a global scale. The Květná garden, together with the Podzámecká Garden and the castle in Kroměříž, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List in 1998.

ZOO Zlín, Lešná castle

Zlín Zoo, formerly also known as Zoo Lešná, is a zoo located about 10 km from the center of Zlín. The zoo keeps over 200 species of animals, among which the attractive ones include, for example, kiwi birds (unique in the Czech Republic), African elephants and rhinoceroses. A special feature of the zoo is the large number of walk-through exhibits, among which the Bay of Stingrays stands out, where you can pet and feed Omani siba stingrays. A large number of plant species can be seen in the area. The Lešná castle is located in the grounds of the zoo. The château contains collections of paintings, porcelain and trophies, documenting the high standard of living in an aristocratic residence at the end of the 19th century.
